Funeral Suits Return With Tree Of Life
Funeral Suits break their silence with the release of a brand new track - “Tree Of Life” - their first new music since the release of their Stephen Street produced debut album “Lily Of The Valley” in 2012.
The one thousand days in between has seen the popularity of the band grow, as their videos - strange emissaries of nightmarish dread - have seeped into the consciousness of millions of music fans from Mexico to Milan to Minneapolis. These sly cinematic increments, led by the terrifying “All Those Friendly People”, enabled the band to tour Europe and the US, before they reconvened to start writing again, in the UK, Ireland and Sweden; at the end of 2014.
Funeral Suits spent much of summer 2015 in Germany, in a studio overlooking the Mauerpark in Berlin. The band worked with producer Jochen Schmalbach - best known for his work with Rammstein and Klangkarussell - on the songs that form the core of their forthcoming album. Additional production and mix work has been done by the father-and-son team of Ken and Jolyon Thomas; Ken is best known for his work with Sigur Ros and M83, while Jolyon has recently enjoyed success with Slaves.
The first progeny of their collective labours is “Tree Of Life”, emerging blinking into the spring sunlight as the lead track from a new Funeral Suits EP which will be released later in the summer.
